Job Opening: Director of Shareholder Advocacy
JLens is seeking a full-time team member based in New York City to oversee shareholder advocacy aligned with Jewish values: social issues, environmental preservation, and support for Israel.
About JLens
JLens (www.jlensnetwork.org) inspires investing through a Jewish lens by connecting the Jewish community to the values-based responsible/impact investing field. This field is growing rapidly, primarily due to demand from young investors who expect investment capital and business to be a force for good. Prior to the launch of JLens, the mainstream Jewish community lacked representation in this increasingly influential global arena.
The JLens team provides consulting on Jewish values-based investing to foundations, federations, and endowments, and oversees JLens’ Jewish Advocacy Fund, the first Jewish values-based responsible investment dedicated to shareholder advocacy on communal concerns. JLens also provides education for a growing network of Jewish communal leaders, including nearly 10,000 institutional and individual investors.

-
Establish relationships on behalf of the Jewish community with leaders in the Socially Responsible Investing (SRI) and Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) fields
-
Attend and speak at industry conferences in the US and globally
-
Participate in working groups, policy forums, and academic convenings on a range of social and environmental issues
-
Counter the anti-Israel BDS movement’s manipulation of the SRI/CSR fields
-
Engage the JLens network in shareholder advocacy efforts
-
Assist with JLens' Jewish Impact Investing Summit (December 5, 2017 hosted at Fordham University in NYC)
Criteria (preferred):
-
Must be located in New York City and willing to travel domestically and internationally
-
Excellent writing, relationship building, and public speaking skills
-
Flexible, organized, team player, and independent worker
-
Advocacy experience, especially on key focus areas including social issues, environmental preservation, and support for Israel/combating BDS
